Viorn

He used to clear it in one go.

Viorn exists for the part nobody warns you about — the day your dog stands beside the sofa instead of getting on it, and the day your cat stops making the windowsill.

Why we exist

The problem is rarely the dog. It is the eighteen inches.

Most of what gets sold as pet furniture is made to look sweet on a shelf, not to carry eighty pounds at an angle. We only stock mobility gear — ramps and steps rated to 250 lb, orthopedic mattresses in genuine memory foam, lift harnesses and wheelchairs — and we stock it for the stage of life nobody enjoys talking about.

How we choose

If it flexes under our hands, it does not ship

What gets rejected

Three tests, in order. Does it carry the weight it claims, with a grown adult leaning on the middle of it? Does it stay put on a wood floor when a dog hits it at speed? And does it look like furniture rather than equipment — because a ramp that gets put away in a cupboard is a ramp the dog never uses. Most of what we look at fails the first one. The usual culprit is a hollow core: it holds a labrador standing still, then bows the moment he actually walks up it. After that it is the surface. Carpet looks reassuring in a photograph and goes slick the first time a wet dog uses it, so we want a woven grip that still bites when it is damp.

A twenty-pound cat is not a kitten in a bigger box.

And for cats

A twenty-pound cat is not a kitten in a bigger box.

Half of what we sell is for cats, and almost none of it comes from the usual pet aisle. Solid-wood trees rated for Maine Coons and Ragdolls, floor-to-ceiling columns for flats with no floor to spare, wall runs, litter cabinets that read as furniture, and catios from 70 to 96 inches so an indoor cat gets outside without getting out.

Before you order

Send us a photo

Text or email a picture of your sofa, bed, car boot or doorway, with your dog's height and weight. We will tell you which ramp angle and which step count actually fits — usually the same day, and sometimes the answer is that you do not need us.

Mobility gear for dogs and cats who have earned it

Viorn is a small US operation selling one narrow thing properly: furniture that helps an animal get where it used to get on its own. Ramps and steps rated to 250 lb, orthopedic mattresses in genuine memory foam rather than shredded offcuts, lift harnesses and wheelchairs for hind-leg weakness, and crate furniture that reads as an end table rather than a cage.

On the cat side the problem is different but the principle is the same. Solid-wood trees built for cats over 20 lb, floor-to-ceiling climbing columns for flats with no floor space, wall runs, litter enclosures that hide the tray, and catios from 70 to 96 inches so an indoor cat can sit outside without getting out.

Everything ships free from our US warehouse and is tracked the whole way, with 30 days to return it. We would rather lose an order than send you the wrong ramp angle, so if you are between sizes, send a photo before you buy. It takes a few minutes and it saves a return.
