The problem with a tall cat tree is not the height. It is the base, a two-foot-square slab of carpeted board parked in a room that did not have two spare feet. Steeple is a floor to ceiling cat tree that braces between the floor and the ceiling instead, so the footprint comes down to almost nothing.
The adjustable post sets to your ceiling height and tensions against it, so the whole structure is held top and bottom. Nothing is drilled. Platforms step up the post at intervals, which gives a cat the vertical route they want without surrendering the corner of the room. A padded top plate spreads the load on the ceiling.
It suits apartments, small living rooms, and any house where the honest answer is that there is nowhere to put a conventional tall cat tower.
