Getting your dog to use it
- Lay it flatPut the ramp on the floor indoors, flat, nowhere near the car. Walk him across it for treats until it stops being interesting. A few minutes at a time.
- Raise it slowlyOnce he crosses without thinking, lift one end a few inches and repeat. Do that over two or three days rather than one afternoon.
- Take it to the carSet it against the trunk at the gentlest angle your car allows, and walk beside him the first few times. Most dogs are confident inside a week.
Warranty

- 5 years from delivery

Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.
It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

He hasn't stopped wanting to come.
Dogs don't lose interest in the car. They lose the confidence to get into it - and most owners only notice on the day he stops trying.
Getting him to use it
Almost no dog walks up a ramp the first time.
Rushing it on day one is the surest way to make him refuse it for good. Three short sessions over a week is all it takes.

Ramp, stairs, or lifting him
Why we sell ramps to people with big dogs.
| A ramp | Pet stairs | Lifting him yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Load on hips and elbows | Lowest - one steady walk | A drop on every step | None for him |
| A 70 lb dog | Walks up himself | Walks up himself | Only if you can lift 70 lb |
| Long-backed breeds | Best option | Usually advised against | Risky if held wrong |
| Your back | Nothing to lift | Nothing to lift | This is where owners get hurt |
| Wet or icy ground | Grit tread the full length | Small footholds | Worst time to be carrying him |
| Stored in the car | Folds to 31 inches | Rarely fits | Nothing to store |
About Fellside Folding Dog Ramp for Car and SUV, 61-Inch, 150 lb
Most dogs don't stop jumping into the car because they've stopped wanting to come. They stop because the landing started to hurt. It happens quietly: a hesitation at the trunk, a shorter jump, a day he waits to be lifted instead. By the time most owners notice, the dog has been avoiding it for weeks. A dog ramp for the car fixes the height that causes it.
Fellside is built for the trunk of a wagon, the tailgate of a crossover, the back seat of a sedan. 61.2 inches of run keeps the gradient shallow enough for an arthritic hip, and rails molded down both sides give a nervous dog something to lean into on the way down, which is the direction that frightens them, not the way up.
It is one piece of molded composite. Nothing to assemble, nothing to rust, and nothing to work loose the fourth time you fold it. It wipes clean after a muddy walk and lives behind a seat between trips.
Why Fellside works for senior dogs and SUV owners
- 61.2-inch runa shallow slope for load heights up to 28 inches, so an arthritic dog walks rather than climbs.
- 5.7-inch molded side railssomething to lean into on the way down, where most refusals happen.
- 150 lb ratingrigid under a 90 lb dog, with no flex or bounce to make him stop halfway.
- Grit non-slip tread the full lengthgrip in rain and on icy ground, which is when you least want to be lifting him.
- Folds to 31 x 15.7 x 7.3 inchesa flat slab that lifts in one hand and lives behind the back seat.
- One-piece compositeno assembly, no rust, wipes clean.

Will it fit your car?
Measure from the ground to the surface your dog steps onto: the trunk floor, the tailgate or the seat. Fellside is built for load heights of 28 inches or less, which covers most sedans, hatchbacks, wagons and mid-size crossovers. If your number is over 28 inches, a pickup bed or a lifted SUV for example, this is the wrong ramp and Tor is the one to look at. Dogs over 150 lb also need the heavier ramp.
Questions about a dog ramp for the car
Will my dog actually use it?
Not on the first try; almost none do. Lay it flat indoors and walk him across it for treats over a few days before it ever goes near the car. Dogs that get rushed on day one tend to refuse it for good, so the slow start is worth it.
How long should a dog ramp be for an SUV?
Long enough to keep the slope shallow. Fellside runs 61.2 inches and is built for load heights up to 28 inches, which covers most sedans, hatchbacks, wagons and mid-size crossovers. Measure from the ground to the surface your dog steps onto; if it is over 28 inches, you need a longer ramp.
My dog is 90 lb. Is that fine?
Yes. It is rated to 150 lb and stays rigid well under that, with no flex or bounce underfoot.
Will it slip off the tailgate?
The top lip sits over the load edge and the ground end is rubber-footed. On a wet or polished tailgate, seat it firmly and check it before he steps on.
How do I clean it, and can I leave it outside?
It is one piece of molded composite, so it wipes clean after a muddy walk. Rain won't hurt it, but it will last longer stored in the car or the garage.
